4th ENICON Capacity Building Webinar gathered dozens of professionals

The 4th Capacity Building Webinar of the ENICON project took place on 8 December 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. It was titled “Critical Raw Materials and Sustainable Metallurgy: Novel Refining Technologies and Advanced Simulation Tools – insights from the HE ENICON project.” The session explored innovative approaches to critical raw materials and sustainable metallurgy, focusing on novel refining technologies and advanced simulation tools for techno-economic and environmental assessment. Speakers included Prof. Mari Lundström (Aalto University) on mineral and metal criticality in Europe’s energy transition and emerging metallurgical technologies, and Assoc. Professor Dimitris Ipsakis (Technical University of Crete) introducing the SUPERPRO process simulation platform. The event gathered 40 participants, among which undergraduate and graduate students, early-stage researchers and professionals interested in sustainable metallurgy and process modelling.
